Struggling in the Windows Mobile market, Microsoft now has another disaster on their hands after the company pulled the plug on their Kin line of mobile phones just 48 days after their release.
The announcement came on the same day that Google was launching their Google Nexus One phone in Australia.
The axing, due to disappointing sales, is a big embarrassment for Microsoft who are struggling to make headway in the consumer electronics market.
“We have made the decision to focus exclusively on Windows Phone 7 and we will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned,” Microsoft said in an issued statement.
“It’s an absolute failure,” Forrester Research analyst Charles S. Golvin told The New York Times.
