Apple has hired Yoky Matsuoka, a famous roboticist who previously served as head of technology at Nest and was a cofounder of Google X, the company’s unit for cutting-edge technology projects.Matsuoka, pictured, is reportedly working for
chief operating officer Jeff Williams, who oversees Apple Watch and the
company’s health initiatives, including HealthKit, ResearchKit and
CareKit.
Matsuoka was previously CEO at Quanttus, a start-up trying to create a
wristband to monitor blood pressure. It has yet to release this product and
recently went through a round of layoffs. She joins Apple with an impressive
resum? as a former professor of robotics as well as her time at Google X
and Nest.
