Sony has slipped into 38th spot in the Fortune annual World’s Most Admired Companies list with arch rival Apple taking the top spot for the third year in a row.
According to Fortune Apple received more votes in the survey than every other company put together.
Conducted in conjunction with management consulting firm The Hay Group, the survey had Google in second place and Microsoft in 11th spot.
Not only did Apple top the list of the 50 most admired companies, but it also walked away with its category–“computers”.
The Top 20 of the Companies that operate in Australia are:

3 Johnson & Johnson
4 Procter & Gamble
5 Toyota Motor
6 Goldman Sachs Group
7 Coca-Cola

11 IBM
12 General Electric
14 J.P. Morgan

Apple needs just two more years in the top spot to rival the all-time record holder GE, but as it and Google increasingly square off, there’s the potential that next year’s list will see some shake-ups on the medal stand.
