Just days from the release of its tenth-anniversary device, the iPhone X, recent reports reveal Apple could launch two new phones next year – an upgraded iPhone X, and a large-screen smartphone the ‘XL’.
Renowned industry insider, KGI Securities’ Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, claims Apple will launch two new iPhones with OLED displays and stainless steel cases, next year.
KGI also predicts that the tech giant will make amendments to the smartphones’ stainless steel metal frame, in a bid to improve data transmission quality.
Some market commentators speculate that the second large screen smartphone referenced in KGI’s report, could be a larger ‘Plus’ version of the forthcoming iPhone X.
The report states that Face ID is also set to roll out to new iPad Pros.
At current, Apple’s premium iPhone product range features only one OLED option, the 5.8″ iPhone X.
Apple’s 4.7″ iPhone 8 and 5.5″ iPhone 8 Plus smartphones both incorporate LCD screens.
Following an impressive earnings report and bullish forecast, Apple’s shares soared on Friday.
Apple’s shares jumped 3.7%, whilst briefly notching US$900 million in market value.
