Apple has issued a security update for its older MacOS Sierra and El Capitan after the recent Intel security breach as the company only released an update for its High Sierra OS.

9to5Mac reports the new update fixes other security vulnerabilities such as an issue that could cause an application to run arbitrary code using kernel privileges by exploiting a vulnerability on the IOHIDFamily API. It also patches an issue that could lead to arbitrary code execution when playing a malicious sound file.

The security update is available as a separate security update for Sierra users on 10.12.6 and El Capitan on 10.11.6.

Intel security breach for its computer chips could potentially harm any Mac, PC and Linux devices.

Intel is asking users to not update their current devices with its new software as it is causing devices to reboot. It says it is working on new update with more information to be released in the coming days.
