Apple said its planned Apple Music streaming service will pay music rights owners about 71.5 percent of revenue in the US and about 73 percent, on average, for songs played in other countrie
Apple announced the new service last week; in the US it will cost $9.99 a month for individuals or $14.99 a month for families. There’s a three-month free trial available from June 30.
The subscription service, which closely matches streaming music provider Spotify’s model, is part of a suite of music offerings from Apple, including a 24-hour-a-day radio station called Beats 1.
