According to the ABC, the consumers watchdog, ACCC and the iPad maker have failed to agree to a suitable name for new “iPad with WiFi + 4G” , at a mediation session today.
The row emerged since it was discovered the Apple tab does not work on Telstra’s 4G network – the only one currently – in Australia.
The ACCC recently found Apple’s iPad ads “misleading” and ordered it to give full refunds to all consumers who purchased the iPad 4G device in Oz.

The iPad maker had also agreed to publish a clarification that states the product supports ultra-fast 3G mobile networks but not 4G.
“Consumers who have purchased or are considering purchasing a “iPad with Wifi + 4G” should ensure that they have a proper understanding of the mobile data networks which this iPad can directly access by a SIM card,” the watchdog warned.
iPad WiFi plus 4G starts at $679 for the 16GB model.
