Consumer favourite Appliances Online (AO) also announced 24/7 customer service, that is Australian-based.
The announcement comes as the largest online appliance seller in OZ won the City of Sydney 2012 Online Business Award last night.
Australian-based General Manager, Peter Harris said the expansion into the AV market was the result of customer feedback.
AO customers were “looking for a one-stop shopping experience for all home appliances,” he said.
The company has not yet confirmed the electronics brands it will sell, but it is likely to include the likes of Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Haier, brands it already stocks on the white goods front.
“The addition of audio-visual and consumer electronics on Appliances Online, adds convenience for our customers who can now purchase whitegoods, kitchen appliances and audio-visual equipment in the same transaction,” says Appliances’ GM.
Its new 24-hour Australian based customer support, just announced, which the e-tailer says is “an online retailer first” means goods can be ordered day or night.
The e-tailer also claims next day delivery for customers, as AO carries stock of high selling items in all warehouses in mainland capital cities.
“If someone needs to order a replacement fridge urgently at 3am our locally based customer support team is on hand to answer any questions a consumer might have on any of our products, and to organise delivery,” said Harris.
“The success of Appliances Online lies in the company’s ability to constantly innovate and adapt the business to respond to consumers’ changing needs.”
