Arcam has gleaned the performance of its top of the range receivers and wrapped them up in its cheapest offering yet.The AV360 is Arcam’s new introductory receiver which looks to its mature AVR600 sibling and the AV888 processor for its keen understanding of sound.
The 7.1 channel receiver is compatible with the latest audio decoding formats, including Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio, and can read media stored on USB or network audio drives in a variety of formats. Effectively, this AVR360 unites a slew of different devices, much like a multimedia hub.
It speaks radio fluently, with it harbouring traditional AM/FM tuners, a DAB tuner and an internet radio receiver.
Videos benefit from full upscaling and cross conversion is managed by a powerful Torino video processor, which is compatible with resolutions up to 1080p/60. It also offers support for 24fps and 3DTV pass-through. Arcam say the “resulting picture quality is outstanding offering breath-taking clarity and supremely realistic colour rendition.”
The AV360 also supports HDMI 1.4a, including Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) technologies, ensuring it’s compatible with digital TV and internet TV tuners.
The new receiver is available today at a recommended retail price of $1,998.
