Arlo has released its new smart doorbell system in Australia, comprising the new Arlo Audio Doorbell (A$129) and Arlo Chime (A$99), to accompany its wire-free security cameras or stand-alone.
The new Arlo Audio Doorbell replaces traditional push-button doorbells, and can automatically call a user’s smartphone when pressed. (Watch in action below).
Residents can speak with visitors straight from their smart device, or if connected with an Arlo wire-free camera, see who is at the door too.
Live communication is available via a user’s mobile phone, with pre-recorded messages available to send when residents are not available.
“Seamless remote, two-way communication via their smartphone ensures that whether a resident is travelling, at the office, or just in the backyard, they are able to easily communicate with guests,” claims Arlo Technologies VP and MD (APAC), Brad Little.
“And because the Audio Doorbell integrates into an Arlo wire-free camera setup, users are able to truly round out their home security ecosystem for added peace of mind.”
Camera placement is enhanced via Arlo’s wire-free design, providing more freedom than conventional smart doorbell solutions.
Arlo’s Audio Doorbell features a weather-resistant exterior and runs on two AA batteries – enough to sustain a year’s usage (dependent on Wi-Fi range, connectivity and frequency of use. More information here).
The new Arlo Chime complements the Audio Doorbell, and can be plugged into any standard power outlet.
Working alongside the Arlo Doorbell and wire-free cameras, the device transmits alerts to any room when plugged in – suitable when users are not near their phone.
Volume and melody settings can be changed via the free Arlo app, with alerts loud enough to serve an 80+ decibel siren.
A dedicated silent mode disables alerts and notifications – suitable during napping or quiet time.
With Arlo’s recently launched subscription service (Arlo Smart), users can extend the availability of cloud recordings by up to 60 days (from A$3.99/per camera per month; or $12.99/per month for ‘Elite’ with up to 10 cameras).
Annual subscriptions are also available, with a free one-month trial available for new subscribers here.
Further information and specifications are available on Arlo’s website here.
