The Arlo Pro 3 security camera has made its launch today boasting 2K HDR resolution video and colour night vision.
Available in both black and white variants for $199.99 (USD) from Arlo’s website, or bundles of two to six cameras for $1099.99 (USD).
Australian availability for the camera is expected in Q4.
Engineered to work both indoors and outdoors, the wire-free security camera provides a massive 160-degree field of view and a weather-resistant enclosure.
Thanks to its magnetic mounting, the Arlo Pro 3 can be positioned on any surface and at virtually every angle.
Paired with the integrated spotlight and colour night vision, the security camera captures details at any light level.
It’s 3-6 month battery life can be topped up in just under three hours via the included magnetic charger.
A solar panel can also be added to extend outdoor use indefinitely.
Each Pro 3 comes with a 3-month trial to the Arlo Smart app, which provides the AI and computer vision-based detection system, plus a 30-day cloud recording history.
Unfortunately, the e911 feature that provides local emergency services with the user’s location may not be functional in Australia as part of the Arlo Smart app.
A built-in siren has also be included for the first time that can be triggered automatically or via the mobile app.
The two-way audio system allows the camera to double as a baby monitor or as a camera interface for the Arlo Doorbell.
A renovated SmartHub app offers optimised Wi-Fi and energy efficiency, plus compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, with Apple HomeKit support to come post-launch.
