Lenovo has revealed a new Selfi flash that attaches to a smartphone.
SmartHouse was shown the new device at the same time as Ashton Kutcher during an exclusive tour of the Lenovo private viewing room.
Kutcher asked several questions of Lenovo engineers relating to battery life, how the flash interacted with the smartphone via the headphone socket and wether the device was “exclusive” to Motorola and Lenovo smartphones. The answer to his last question is “yes”.
At this stage it is not known when the device will be launched in Australia however Australians could get access to the new flash when Lenovo who now own Motorola launch the stunning new $500 Vibe X2 Pro that come with a front-facing 13-megapixel autofocus camera with gesture controls and “selfie beautification tools” in the form of an add on flash, later this year.
The LED ring flash illuminates your face as you pose. When you plug the device into the headphone jack the software automatically synchronises its eight white LEDs with the camera.
Lenovo claims that you will get 100 shots on a charge.
As for the Vibe X2 it will come with a 5.3-inch 1080p screen, 4G LTE data, and Android 4.4 KitKat running on an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chip-all housed within a red, white and blue layered metal body.
