Athena Technologies have introduced the Audition Series 2 home theatre and two-channel music system speakers.
It is claimed that the Audition Series 2 speakers utilise the best of technology from Audition’s first generation speakers, including exclusive Teteron tweeter technology. Teteron is a synthetic silk-like material chosen for its smooth high-frequency response and wide dispersion characteristics, and is an optimum material for today’s tweeter designs.
Designed for the home theatre and two-channel music, the range outputs a clean sound with the bass extending down to 35Hz, offering reasonably bodied sound without the need for subwoofers. The models are magnetically shielded, offering high efficiency and making them ideal for smaller powered receivers and amplifiers. Athena also designs every part of the Audition series, unlike some manufacturers that are claimed to outsource internal components to the lowest bidder.
The series features the same driver and tweeter technology as Athena’s new WS Series slim design home theatre speakers, therefore remaining consistent across all models of both lines allowing a mix and match to suit your needs.
The Series 2 uses injected moulded polypropylene woofer cones with resilient butyl-rubber surrounds for extended excursion and rugged durability. It also uses precision-machined .75 inch MBF enclosures and gold-plated 5-way binding posts.
