Sound and home theatre specialist Audio Connection will open a new store in Drummoyne, Sydney, carrying the Audio Connection name across the bridge and tapping-in to a broader customer base.
The building, located at 137 Victoria Road, Drummoyne, is a three-level former furniture shop which also has a history in home entertainment retail.

Formerly registered as Audio Excellence, the store changed hands ten years ago and became Furniture Excellence, specialising in high-end designer homewares.
Audio Connection’s move to the suburb will mean the business will be easier to access by shoppers in suburbs including Manly and Mosman along with the eastern suburbs, which typically don’t cross the “Parramatta Road border”, according to Audio Connection owner, Josef Riediger.
“We want to repeat the market place in our Leichhardt store, to a degree, but with some different and new brands,” Riediger told SmartHouse News.
Audio Connection is currently “negotiating” with approximately five “cutting edge” distributors from the US and UK, with a view to stock two or three new brand-names in the Drummoyne store, said Riediger.
While the new shop is slightly smaller than the Audio Connection headquarters on Parramatta Road in Leichhardt, all three levels will be stocked with home entertainment and hi-fi gear from Bose and Denon to higher-end, specialist audio brands.
Riediger hopes to open level one of the new shop in four weeks time, however when the other two levels are ready for trading in the weeks following, the shop will feature various audio and video listening and display rooms.
Existing staff from the Leichhardt store will be transferred to the Drummoyne location, with up to two new staff members recruited in the coming weeks.
Audio Connection recently closed down part of its Leichhardt premises, making the headquarters smaller, however extra stock from the location will be transferred to Drummoyne, said Riediger.
“By opening another store I am reducing our cost overheads. And advertising becomes easier with each store I open,” he said.
Riediger also owns an Audio Connection store in Carringbah, with the Leichhardt and new Drummoyne business making three.
Riediger says the new Audio Connection store will be good for the other Victoria Road businesses.
“People around us think its brilliant,” he said.
“And I have already sold two home theatre packages, one for $60,000 and the other for $40,000, before the store has even opened!”
