Apple has finally moved to kill off the old-school iPod Nano and Shuffle, taking down the option to buy the portable MP3 players from their website.

An Apple spokesperson has confirmed to The Verge that both products have met their end and are now officially discontinued.

“Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano,” the spokesperson said.

Presumably, you’ll still be able to pick a Nano or Shuffle up through retailers and online resellers within the immediate future.

The move doesn’t come as a huge surprise for Apple. The dedicated MP3 player isn’t quite the money-making category it used to be and the company haven’t really tinkered with the hardware for either the Shuffle or Nano for at least the last five years.

Given the 2014 decision to kill off the iPod Classic, only the iPod Touch remains – now available in 32GB and 128GB storage options.
