Australian online auction website OZtion claims its new online shopping tool helps turn shoppers watching an item on sale into buyers.
From an analysis of its recent Australian sales figures, OZtion says that when Aussies use online shopping tools which allow them to monitor the price of an item they are considering buying, they are 20 percent more likely top purchase the product.
The new tools in question allow the item’s seller to offer instant discounts to shoppers that watch their product. Shoppers are able to nominate whether or not they wish to be approached for discounts, to avoid privacy concerns.
The company says this means sellers can offer specific discounts, without having to provide a general discount.
“Any business selling online can improve their online sales figures by using sales tactics that encourage people to vigilantly watch their product,” says Managing Director of OZtion, Philip Druce.
OZtion says it’s Australia’s second largest online auction site, with over 140,000 registered members.
