Big 3 carriers plus Virgin will all be selling Samsung’s new hero S5, announced overnight
Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona overnight, Samsung’s new Galaxy S5 with 5.1-inch Full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon processor, has a fingerprint sensor to unlock, a new dimpled back cover, 16mp camera with hybrid autofocus (can shoot 4K and Full HD) and a heart rate sensor, among other newbies.

It will go on sale on 11 April in Australia and 150 other countries globally at all major carriers, Samsung announced overnight, but did not confirm pricing.
All four main telcos: Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin have all today confirmed it will be selling the S5, and will be hoping it will do the business, as its predecessors S4 and S3. However, none released any pricing or plan info.
Telstra spokesperson said it’s “excited about the new Samsung GALAXY S5, launched in Barcelona today.
“We can confirm that the Samsung GALAXY S5 will be available for Telstra customers when it is released in Australia. Customers can register their interest here.”

Optus, too, said the S5 will be one of its smartphones for 2014 and has a pre-registration page opened online.
Virgin confirmed it will be selling the new Galaxy S5 but no pricing or plans are available but a spokesperson said it will be released in the coming weeks.
Vodafone Australia also tweeted confirmation the new Android will be available at the telco, and opened pre-registration online.

The new Galaxy S5 comes in 4 colours: charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold. Its likely S5 will be bundled with Samsung new Gear smartwatch, announced this week.
