Aussies may be known for their laid-back nature, yet more than half feel the heat over their power bills in summer.
This is particularly the case for residents in NSW and Victoria, according to new research.
Other major issues with air conditioners were units installed incorrectly and in the wrong locations, high running costs and energy usage and excessive noise made by unit.
The survey also showed that the most popular makes among Australians were Daikin, Samsung and Kelvinator.
Daikin came out on top in consumer satisfaction ratings beating other names including market leader Fujitsu, Panasonic, Mitsubishi and LG.
Samsung and Kelvinator both came out top on price.
“The survey showed how highly Australians rate Daikin as an air conditioning provider, with the company scoring top marks in the categories of overall satisfaction, after sale service, reliability, ease of use, functionality, noise and energy efficiency.” said CANSTAR Head of Research, Steve Mickenbecker, who carried out the survey.
The report also found that Generation Y respondents were the most relaxed of all age groups surveyed about the size of their power bills.
