EB Games is bringing its own video game convention to the Gold Coast in Queensland this October that mashes up gaming and motocross. The EB Games Expo will feature playable versions of new and upcoming gaming titles, live presentations from developers from the local and international gaming stages, cosplay competitions and, in a little less gamer fashion, live freestyle motocross.
Convention-goers will also get a chance to watch the best gamers compete for the National Championship Crown before heading off to Korea for the World Cyber Games.
The current game studios on board are EA and Ubisoft, though a full exhibitor list is set to be released in the coming months.
EA is quick to latch onto the event after already claiming a stake in Aussie gaming with the acquisition of Australian game studio Firemint (creators of tablet and smartphone hits like Flight Control).
The expo is set for October 15 and 16 at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, with tickets going on sale on June 2 for $30 or $100 for VIP (featuring backstage access to media interviews, priority seating and express access to certain games).
