Australian Distributor Victim To Porn Attack

Local distributor Altech’s website was perverted by pornographic images over the weekend.

Altech’s site has since been restored

An unknown hacker placed three animated pornographic photos on the ‘Product News’ section of the website. The breach was first recognised by Altech customer Identity Computing at 1AM on Sunday morning.

Altech took the site offline for several hours before they could restore normal service. The distributor claims they were subject to a ‘surface’ attack.

“The overall effect was pretty minimal, however the decision to temporarily shut down the site was taken until a full audit could be completed,” Altech said in a statement.

“Altech has fully investigated the attack and determined that at no time was any Altech customers’ information compromised and is pleased to report that everything is back to normal, with extra layers of security was added to avoid future attacks.”
