At 25mm thick, a new slim, portable speaker for iPod is designed for those who like to take their tunes on the road, says the manufacturer.

AVLabs’ AVL341 Slim Speaker System can slide into a bag and be powered by batteries, or by mains power.

Adding to the unit’s portability, the speaker features a retractable docking station and rear stand, providing added protection when travelling, says AVLabs.

While its thin design makes it ideal for the iPod Nano, the unit is also compatible with other iPod models (including the latest iPods and iPhone), with its built-in docking station charging your iPod while it plays. In addition, the rear of the speaker provides an auxiliary-in jack to enable connection to other audio devices, such as other MP3 players or a portable DVD player.
