If you’ve ever lost or damaged your mobile, you’ll recognise that sinking feeling you get when you realise you’ve lost all your stored numbers and contacts.
Motorola’s new Backup service offers an easy way to avoid this problem. You can wirelessly backup all your information then retrieve and restore it should the need arise.
The service can be accessed at www.motorolabackup.com, where you form a secure account for yourself. Information is then sent to your mobile and you can update information on the server at anytime your phone.
There’s also a function to manage your contacts online rather than on your handset.
Backup is compatible with most Motorola handsets and is free for 30 days when you sign up at the Web site. After that the service costs $3 per month if you continue to use it.
A list of supported handsets is available at www.hellomoto.com.au
