EXCLUSIVE: BenQ has shown a brand new lightweight Android tablet that comes with a wafer thin keyboard cover that communicates with the tablet devices via the keyboard hinges that attach to the back of the tablet.
At a global dealer conference in Sydney, BenQ management showed dealers the new device by comparing the Asus Transformer Prime with their new offering.
The BenQ offering which is described as the lightest and thinest in its class was significantly lighter than the 1.12 kilogram Transformer Prime tablet with the BenQ device weighing under 0.55 Kilogram.
It also came with a high performance Retina screen.

Exclusive photographs obtained by Smarthouse show a slim Android tablet complete with the new keyboard.
When launched it will have Ice Cream Sandwich. The device is not going to be sold in Australia.
A BenQ executive said that the combined device of tablet and keyboard was lighter than what Asus or Logitech were offering as a keyboard for tablets.
“We have managed to design a tablet that has a flexible keyboard integrated into the tablet. The keyboard folds up to protect the screen similar to the way that an iPad cover folds over an Apple tablet” said the executive who was showing the device to their global dealers for the first time.
