The latest in BenQ’s Joybook range is a 15.4 inch widescreen Centrino desktop-replacement notebook (R55 V16).
BenQ claims the world’s fastest 16 ms response time for the notebook. It features an 80 GB SATA hard disk drive, double-layer DVD burner, optional port replicator and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet.
It comes with an NVDIA GeForce Go 7400 graphics processing unit for high-definition graphics and video. NVIDIA TurboCache technology is also incorporated into the R55 to provide a larger total graphics memory.
The R55 V16 is bundled with an OEM full version of Microsoft Office Basic and QDataTrove. According to BenQ, the latter allows you to back up files from the hard disk drive’s second partition. It also allows you to recover one file, rather than the entire hard drive, if you wish. Also bundled with the R55 is the QMedia software suite.
The keyboard design features “refined keycap cushioning” which BenQ says helps to alleviate typing stress and fatigue.
