The Good Guys has beaten out both JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman by a big margin to win the 2010 People’s Choice Award for Best Retailer in the appliance, consumer electronics and IT technology market.
More than 1000 Choice members voted in the awards. According to Choice Harvey Norman finished strongly in second place followed closely by JB Hi Fi.
Also in the running were Aldi, Apple, Bing Lee, Dick Smith, Myer and David Jones.
Choice claimed that stores with a big home electronics focus attracted favourable comments particularly when it came to staff being able to deal with customer’s requests without “appearing patronising or putting them under undue pressure”.
Choice said that David Jones and Aldi finished just outside the top three suggesting that there is a place for both premium service and discount operators.
