Shock quit: RIM bosses Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis are to quit later today as part of a management reshuffle as the struggling brand looks to avert catastrophe.

The top job (Balsillie and Lazaridis run Research In Motion as Co-CEo’s) will go to ” a little-known company insider” according to Wall Street Journal, who names Thorsten Heins as taking over the top spot.
Heins is currently one of two Chief Operating Officer’s and former CTO at Siemens AG.
The dramatic move is part of a “board and management shuffle” which will see other execs at Canadian based RIM shoved out also.
BlackBerry has suffered hugely at the hands of Apple iPhone and Android, even in the corporate market, is primary stronghold.
The CEO duo (pictured), who are also Co-Chairmen, were not pushed out of the job, rather they were the ones who initiated the move, according to the report.
Lazaridis was one of the founders of the former darling of the smartphone market, RIM, in 1984.
