Hack it Blackberry: Team Poison deface the official BB blog |
So far they’ve opted to help police, claim the BBC, by handing them (what was considered private) BBM transcripts. It’s believed that the BBM service, in addition to Facebook and Twitter, was being used by people to fuel the riots that split the country between authorities and civilians.
As a result the BlackBerry official blog was defaced by a hacking group called ‘Team Poison.’
In a statement Team Poison said it didn’t condone innocent people or small businesses being attacked, but at the same time it supported the rioting against the police and government.
“We are all for the rioters that are engaging in attacks on the police and government.”
What has particularly implicated BlackBerry is Team Poison’s concerns over innocent people who own one of their phones being incorrectly targeted by authorities.
“Innocent members of the public who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and owned a Blackberry will get charged for no reason at all,” said Team Poison’s statement.
In retaliation, the hacking ‘team’ have jeopardised BlackBerry employee safety by threatening to leak their information to the public, including names, addresses and phone numbers of BlackBerry staff.
