BlackBerry’s upcoming KEYone smartphone will launch in Australia from July, and will be available at JB Hi-Fi, online and in-store.
Pre-orders for the $899 KEYone, which the company says is “ushering in a new era of BlackBerry smartphones”, will open sometime in mid-June from JB Hi-Fi, with BlackBerry encouraging people to register on the BlackBerry website for pre-sale information and updates.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring the highly anticipated all-new Android-powered BlackBerry KEYone smartphone to Australian consumers,” said Sam Skontos, Head of Asia Pacific, BlackBerry.
“We have witnessed a incredible response to pre-sale orders across other leading global markets, and have no doubt that the BlackBerry will very rapidly reinstate itself as a firm Aussie favourite, with both BlackBerry aficionados and a new generation of devoted fans.”
Skontos said the “distinctively different” KEYone has an enhanced feature-set, including secure software features and the brand’s trademark modified keyboard, which “truly set it apart from any mobile device on the market”.
“BlackBerry has such a rich history here in Australia, and we’re proud to be part of the new evolution of BlackBerry smartphones that re-imagine how we communicate and stay connected,” Skontos said.
The BlackBerry KEYone will launch in July for $899. Stay tuned for SmartHouse’s review of the KEYone later today.
