Bang & Olufsen has announced a $4,300 plug and play home music hub which when compared to what Sonos offering with their $419 wireless speakers is incredibly expensive and limit5ed in its capability, but it does look good.
The device is similar to the Sonos offering in that it delivers access to a digital music collection, playing music from a hard drive, computer, wireless device and network server all from the same hub.

You can have up to eight of the BeoSound Encores connected to a single server, so you can ensure that each room in your home has access to your whole music collection.
B&O claim that all a user has to do is connect a pair of speakers to the music hub to control one’s music and playlists via a 10.4-inch display.
With the Sonos system users can access their content from a smartphone, tablet or PC.
Users of the B&O hub also get access to internet radio stations as well as being able to automatically generate playlists using B&O’s MOTS system.
