Bose has announced a pair of new cylindrical 360-degree wireless speakers, which it says are its best ever.
Building on the legacy of previous SoundLink offerings, they say that the new SoundLink Revolve and SoundLink Revolve+ combine omni-directional performance with a seamless aluminum design to deliver “deep, jaw-dropping sound in every direction”.
“When SoundLink first hit the market, it took the industry by storm,” said Glenn Gomes-Casseres, director of products for Bose wireless speakers.
“We didn’t want to make small improvements to the audio that made it famous. We wanted the difference to be so dramatic, that it would take just one song to hear the best sound you’ve ever heard from a little speaker – all over again.”
Working to get the best results out of a new patented acoustic deflector and utilising a “pressure trap” to eliminate distortion, Bose say the new Revolve speakers radiate sound “uniformly in every direction” and eliminate the frequency drop-offs of conventional 360-degree speakers.
They’re built to be at home in any environment and come IPX4-rated to withstand spills, rain, and pool splashes. There’s even a quarter-twenty thread on the bottom of the speaker, allowing it to easily be mounted onto a tripod.
In terms of the battery life, Bose say the standard Revole will provide up to 12-hours of battery life while the Revolve+ is slightly better at up to 16-hours of playtime.
Both can pair through NFC and integrate microphones to use as a speakerphone or as an outlet for voice assistants like Siri and Google Assistant.
Bose’s SoundLink Revolve and SoundLink Revolve+ Bluetooth speakers will be available from the 12th of May for an RRP of $299.00 and $439.00 through Bose stores, Bose.com.au and other authorised Bose dealers.
