Consumers will soon find Bowers & Wilkins’ mid-range 700 Series loudspeakers and subwoofers in three more specialist AV stores across Australia, which is not to be sneezed at since the product range was until now stocked in only a humble 22 dedicated stores.
“Our retail strategy is that less is more,” said a spokesperson from Bowers & Wilkins’ disitrbutor, Convoy International brand manager, John Martin.
“Bowers & Wilkins’ policy internationally is that they don’t deal with chains and publicly-listed companies, but rather smaller, more specialist stores with a lot of depth and expertise.”
The 700 Series, which includes various pairs of vented-box, floor-standing and stand-mount speakers along with two closed-box powered subwoofers and dedicated speaker stands, sits in between Bowers & Wilkins’ high-end 800 series which is stocked in 9 dealers Australia-wide and the brand’s 600 series which graces the shelves of a comparatively-large 50 shop fronts.
“The 700 Series gives you an attractive timber veneer and the high-end technology of the 800 Series, at a cheaper price, which is very appealing,” said Martin.
Park Beach Music in Coffs Harbour NSW, Sound & Vision Studio in Adelaide SA and West Coast HiFi in Joondalup WA have all added the 700 Series to their stock line-ups, with more dealers to come.
“It’s very interesting that we’re still receiving interest from dealers looking to stock the 700 Series,” said Martin of the range which was launched in early 2004.
“We are currently in discussions with a few more dealers.”
