If you like the idea of listening to Fatboy Slim on some B&W speakers – you might like B&W’s new 601 Fatboy speaker. It is a limited edition of the DM601s3 speaker featured on Fatboy Slim’s Greatest Hits album cover.
According to B&W’s Australian distributor, Convoy, the 601 Fatboy was produced at Norman Cook’s request to Bowers & Wilkins to provide him with a unique gift to thank all his friends in the music industry.
But Convoy has managed to score a small quantity for “promotional use” for the Australian market. The speakers will come along with a signed autographed copy of Fatboy Slim’s Greatest Hits – Why Try Harder? album.
Usually retailing for $899, the DM601S3 compact bookshelf/ stand-mount speaker combines a165mm woven Kevlar cone bass / midrange driver with a Nautilus tube-loaded metal dome tweeter.
Unfortunately, the 601 Fatboy is not for sale – Convoy will be giving the speakers away via a number of competitions in magazines, newspapers and online.
