Samsung Australia will open its first Down Under retail store in Sydney next Wednesday. It has invited Australian technology media to an “exclusive preview” of the store at 450 George St, Sydney – in the same block as Apple’s glass-fronted three-story Sydney store, and just cross the road from a Telstra store.
The preview event will be hosted by Samsung’s veep of telecommunications in Australia, Tyler McGee.
The Samsung Experience Store will be its first in Australia. Last month, the company opened a retail store – pictured – in Vancouver, Canada, which was promoted as the first of its kind in North America, though it appears to lack the size or design pizazz of a major Apple store.
Specific details of Samsung’s Sydney store haven’t been revealed. The Canadian store offers mostly “mobility products” which Samsung says are devices that consumers can physically take out of the store, such as smartphones, tablets and notebooks.
