If you find the idea of making coffee at home too much of a hassle, a fully automatic coffee machine might be what you’re looking for.
The new Oracle Touch from Breville is described as “a domestic espresso machine that performs like a high end commercial machine, delivering coffee without compromise (and without a barista)”.
It features a touch screen interface with five different coffee options available, along with textured milk for making hot chocolates. Users are able to adjust the strength, temperature and milk texture of each coffee, and can save up to eight personalised coffees on the machine.
This screen walks you through the entire process of making a coffee step by step, simplifying the process along the way thanks to auto grind, dose and tamp pressure, and temperature control, plus automatic steam texturing technology for making micro-foam milk.
According to Breville, a quality espresso can be narrowed down to four key elements which it claims the Oracle Touch delivers without compromise: a coffee dose of 19-22g, precise temperature control to +/-1˚C, 9 bar extraction pressure, and high pressure steam for “silky micro-foam milk texture”.
Breville also notes the Oracle Touch was honoured with a 2017 German Red Dot design award and an Australian Good Design Award.
The Oracle Touch retails for a pricey $3499, but for some the convenience might be worth the price tag.
