Breville has set a new record for itself at this year’s Red Dot design awards, taking home eight titles including the Best of the Best Award.
“This is a fantastic recognition of the creative thinking and teamwork that goes into developing exceptional products,” said Richard Hoare, Design and Innovation Director, Breville Pty Limited.
Breville’s Toast Select Luxe toaster, Soft Top Luxe kettle, Oracle Touch coffee machine, Smart Oven Air, Steam Zone steamer, Smoking Gun and Perfect Press sandwich maker were all recognised.
The distribution giant took home the top honour for their Creatista Expresso machine, built in partnership with Nestle.
“The Creatista Plus is a classic case of 1 + 1 equals 3. In order to solve the challenge of merging two distinct, established, and award winning design directions, the team had to create a third form that has its roots in both the simplicity of capsule and the craftsmanship of manual espresso, and that would clearly convey the promise and synergy of the concept,” Hoare said.
Nestle were similarly enthused about the acclaim garnered by the product, with Claire Cloatre-Vinzant, Head of Machines Marketing at Nespresso commenting that “The Creatista Plus speaks to the growing number of coffee lovers wanting to personalise their coffee moments. This collaboration meant that for the first time ever, Nespresso users could top their exceptional coffee with latte art to impress their friends and family.”
