Brother International Australia has released a new flatbed 5-in-1 multi-function centre (MFC-8860DN) with inbuilt networking capabilities and automatic duplex.
The new model claims to offer up to 28 ppm print speed and 28 cpm copy speed, built-in Ethernet network interface, 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution, 250 sheet paper tray, 50 sheet multi-purpose tray, and 32 MB base memory (expandable to 544 MB).
Brother said the new model is an extension of its MFC-8460N, offering five new features; scan to FTP server, custom scan profile storage, LDAP, a secure function lock and a fax receiving time stamp. The company also said it has automatic duplex capability for two-sided printing, copying, faxing and scanning.
According to the company, as a photocopier, the new MFC supports reduction and enlargement of documents from 25 – 400 percent in one percent increments. As a fax machine, it supports up to 340 speed dial locations and also incorporates dual access and broadcast faxing features. The MFC can also function as a standalone copier and fax machine, so a computer is not required.
The colour scanner function comes bundled with document management and optical character recognition software.
The MFC is compatible with both PC and Mac operating systems (Windows 98/ NT4.0 /2000 /Me /2000 /XP and Mac OS 9.1-9.2, OS X 10.2.4 or greater).
Brother said the extra features on its new model make it ideal for SMEs and business workgroups to “Streamline their everyday communications and printing needs, saving time and money.”
