Games manufacturer Criterion has gone back in time to the 1980s by revealing three new vehicles for its Burnout Paradise game, which come pretty close to replicating some very famous cars from that era that appeared on the big and small screens. The Manhattan Spirit is the kind of car that would not be out of place on the set of Ghostbusters, while the Carson Nighthawk certainly seems to have the look and feel of KITT from Knight Rider, except he doesn’t talk and had a blue light at the front instead of a red one.
Then there is the Cavalry Bootlegger, which looks very similar to the General Lee for the Dukes of Hazzard however, they have done away with the Confederate flag and replaced it with Mexico’s national emblem.
No sign of the DeLoren from Back to the Future just yet, but that car’s chequered history was probably enough to stop Criterion adding to the list.
