The stats are compliments of a Needham & Co report conducted by analyst Charlie Wolf, and reveal that Apple is finally beginning to eat Dell’s, Acer’s and HP’s market share.
Although they still account for a small percentage of the overall market, Wolf claims that Mac growth in the third quarter outpaced that of the PC for the 22nd consecutive quarter.
Mac’s growth in the home segment was 25.6 percent compared to a 4 percent rise in the overall market. Apple’s performance was even better in the business environment, with 43.8 percent growth compared to the markets paltry 4.8 percent rise.
The Asia Pacific was adopting Macs quicker than any other region according to Wolf, with a quarterly growth of 57.2 per cent.
“The growth of Apple’s sales in China represents a perfect storm between an iconic brand and a rapidly growing middle class that’s more brand-conscious than consumers in most other regions of the globe,” Wolf said.
