B&W are set to update their mid-range speakers, the CM series, with the addition of a centre channel and a floorstander, which follow the recently announced CM1 bookshelf speaker.
The two new speakers are the CM4 floorstander, which will retail for approximately $3000, and the HTM CM center channel which will retail for around $1000. The CM1 bookshelf will be available in March/April and is expected to retail for $1500.
No configuration details are yet available on either speaker as they are yet to be officially announced by B&W, but both are likely to be 2.5 way speakers, with two mid/bass drivers.
All CM Series speakers utilise Kevlar cones, Nautilus tweeter and the Flowport, and are available in three real-wood veneers – Wenge, Rosenut and Maple – and each is finished by a magnetically-attached grille in either black or dark grey fabric.
B&W describe the CM Series as a “best of both worlds” range, with technology gained from the XT and 800 ranges, but using traditional cabinet shape and construction, and so appealing to buyers who want a more classical look.
