Apple has been forced to write a letter asking for their new HD iPhone back. The embarrassing series unfolded after some poor sod at Apple lost a brand new prototype Iphone in a San Jose bar.
Gizmodo, Editor Brian Lam got a call from Apple regarding the misplaced device. He said that they could get their device back as long as they sent an official letter of confirmation.
Shortly afterwards, Senior VP of Apple Bruce Sewell had a letter delivered that confirmed that the device splashed across the web yesterday was the real thing.
The letter read: “It has come to our attention that Gizmodo is currently in possession of a device that belongs to Apple. This letter constitutes a formal request that you return the device to Apple. “Please let me know where to pick up the unit.”
Apple has never had to deal with a leak on this scale before, and questions are now being asked as to whether the person who lost the device still has a job.
