Canon Australia has released firmware upgrades for two of its professional digital SLR cameras. This new firmware incorporates comes with new refinements and features like improved Auto Focus (AF) performance in AI Servo AF and increased operation options.

Canon Australia’s Product Manager, Chris Macleod said, “Canon continually re-examines the performance and operability of its products after they’re launched and we actively seek feedback from photographers on possible improvements and refinements. In response to this feedback, we’ve upgraded our firmware to offer photographers additional operation options and improved AF accuracy when shooting extremely low-contrast subjects in AI Servo AF.”
The new firmware versions also include the following improvements:
- Direct selection of AF point using the Multi-controller
- The functions of Exposure compensation/Aperture and AF point selection or ISO speed set buttons can be switched between each other
- Flash function settings can be used to set the Wireless setting and Zoom using the camera’s external Speedlite control menu.
