Mate 2 phablet rears its head at CESHuawei mobile ascends once again with Ascend Mate 2 4G, a 6.1 inch smartphone/tablet known as ‘phablet’ that now has a whopping two day battery life, powered by 4050mAh lithium-polymer battery.
But that’s not all – Mate 2 can also charge other mobile devices – handy. The 6.1″ 720p IPS panel – is the same as the original Ascend Mate but has new software creds including Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0.
There’s a choice of 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 or HiSilicon Cortex-A9 chip, according to Huawei CEO Richard Yu at the company CES press conference in Las Vegas.
Other Mate 2 specs include: 2GB of RAM, an impressive 13MP camera with Sony BSI sensor in the rear and a 5MP front cam.
The Chinese company, now the fastest growing mobile brand globally, was hailed for its original thin, light Ascend Mate, despite limited take up by telcos here, initially.
Lets hope Mate 2 goes a lot further.
