Australian Internet of Things company Connexion Media has advised that General Motors will launch its Commercial Link service to its new vehicle customers this year.Providing an update on its contract with GM, under which it is the supplier for Commercial Link, a web and app-based vehicle management software application for small businesses, Connexion has advised that the service is expected to be available for customers in the USA this year.
“Commercial Link is a simplified vehicle management system that helps keep businesses running at maximum efficiency,” Connexion states of the service. “It tracks a range of real-time and historical data, including vehicle locations, distance travelled, fuel consumption, battery life, engine performance and absolute and average speeds travelled.
“Commercial Link is the first of its kind to be designed and developed to utilise embedded in-vehicle connectivity for small fleet owners.”
A website for Commercial Link advises that iPhone and Android apps will be available.
