Lenovo has unveiled the latest iteration of its notebook crown jewel – the next generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon and its convertible counterpart, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga.
Despite relatively minor incremental upgrades, Lenovo’s ThinkPad portfolio remains the go-to for most corporate clients, with the next generation devices not likely to disrupt a tried and tested formula.
The 2019 ThinkPad X1 Yoga incorporates Intel eight-gen processors, a new CNC aluminium chassis and slimmer bezels.
Whilst reducing weight and thickness, plus improving a few internal parts the new ThinkPad X1 Yoga is predominately a moderate upgrade on the 2018 version, bearing a close overall resemblance.
The 14-inch notebook is set to launch internationally in June, from US$1930.
The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon [non-convertible version] boasts a refined carbon fibre finish and revamped body which is notably thinner and lighter than the previous model.
Whilst upgrades are somewhat similar to the Yoga version, the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon does boast new Intel processors, new Dolby Atmos speakers and a new camera.
The 14-inch ThinkPad X1 Carbon will also launch internationally in June, from US$1710.
Also unveiled at CES 2019 is Lenovo’s new 43.4-inch ThinkVision P44w display monitor, boasting an ultra wide 32:10 aspect ration and 3840 x 1200 resolution.
The monitor claims to deliver the screen equivalent of two 24-inch 16:10 displays.
The Lenovo ThinkVision P44w is scheduled to launch internationally in April, with a forecast starting price of US$1299.
