Samsung has showcased its new Micro LED screen technology at CES 2019, debuting a 75-inch 4K ‘home-friendly’ version and whopping 219-inch ‘The Wall’.
Whilst Australian pricing is yet to be confirmed, availability details are set to be announced later.
“Samsung Australia is currently assessing when to launch this product locally. More details will be shared regarding local availability at a later date,” claims a spokesperson.
Jonghee Han, President of Samsung Electronics Visual Display Business asserts Micro LED will be at the forefront of the “next screen revolution”:
“Our Micro LED technology is at the forefront of the next screen revolution with intelligent, customizable displays that excel in every performance category.”
Samsung claims Micro LED technology outperforms any picture quality on today’s market, whilst offering unparalleled modular versatility.
The transformative TVs incorporate several individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs, with millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips emitting their own light for bright colours.
It comes after Samsung introduced Micro LED at CES 2018, unveiling its award-winning 146-inch ‘The Wall’.
Technical advancements have enabled Samsung to narrow the gap between microscopic LED chips, producing a 4K Micro LED ‘home-friendly’ 75-inch display.
Offering significant versatility, users can customise Micro LED screens to fit any room or space.
By adding Micro LED modules users can seamlessly expand the display size to their preference including; irregular 9×3, 1×7 or 5×1.
For added finesse, Samsung’s Micro LED displays are bezel-free, with no borders between modules. The seamless aesthetic is only enhanced via Samsung’s new Ambient Mode features.
Despite the addition of more modules, Micro LED displays pledge to increase picture resolution, whilst keeping pixel density constant.
Without impairing quality, Micro LED supports standard 16:9 content, 21:9 widescreen films, plus ‘unconventional’ aspect ratios such as 32:9 or 1:1.
Samsung asserts Micro LED technology optimises picture content, no matter the size and shape of the screen.
