Lenovo has unveiled the world’s first 5G laptop, nabbing a primary spot into the burgeoning field of 5G connected devices beyond what is currently a smartphone only market.
The Yoga 5G will be the first 5G connected laptop, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G Compute Platform, with speeds ten times higher than 4G.
Coming in Autumn 2020 at the cost of US$1,499, though availability and pricing may change closer to release.
The portable 2-in-1 laptop is capable of receiving download speeds of around 4GB/s supported by nine built-in antennas.
Weighing in at just over 1kg, the Yoga 5G is exceptionally portable with 24-hour battery life.
Plus thanks to software-enabled intelligent temperature control features, the Yoga 5G remains cool throughout the day without the need for a physical fan.
Featuring a 14-inch Full HD IPS touch display, the Yoga 5G screen outputs 400 nits of brightness with Qualcomm Adreno 680 graphics and Dolby Atmos speakers driving the visuals and audio.
Paired also with a digital pen/stylus and Windows 10, the Yoga 5G will herald in a new wave of mobile laptop products beyond anything we’ve seen before.
