Samsung has unveiled the latest in 8K QLED TV innovation with the South Korean company showcasing a range of new display products, including the launch of the ultra-thin Q950TS Infinity Screen TV.
The Q950TS sports a screen-to-body ratio of 99% thanks to its practically invisible bezels, which Samsung claim will ‘disappear’ at about ten to fifteen-foot viewing distances.
At only 15mm thin across the display, the flat-back panel can lay flush against the wall.
Samsung’s 2020 QLED 8K lineup will all meet the 8K Association’s Certified Test Specifications as well as the CTA 8K Ultra HD Display Definition.
Much like computer displays, the TV will also automatically adjust the picture with the ambient light within the room, thanks to Samsung’s Adaptive Picture technology.
Since there is not a lot of 8K content out there at the moment, Samsung’s Quantum Processor features improved AI upscaling to create highresolution content regardless of the source.
AI ScaleNet will also assist with upscaling, and smoothness of streaming connect.
Combined with Object Tracking Sound+, the Q950 delivers 5.1 channel surround sound using AI-based software to match the movement of audio sound with the flow of objects on the screen.
The TV can even automatically adjust the volume in response to familiar ambient sounds like a blender or vacuum cleaner through Active Voice Amplification.
Beyond just pure entertainment, the Q950 is designed to be the centre of your connected home with a Digital Butler for controlling smart home devices as well as infrared devices common in Hi-Fi setups.
Much like Logitech’s Harmony remote, this new system will allow users to operate their home theatre systems through one remote easily.
Thanks to Bixby integration, Samsung offers multiple voice assistant options from Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant.
Samsung has also raised its concerns about the health of consumers, highlighting that four out of every five people do not get enough regular exercise.
In response, Samsung has developed Samsung Health on TV for the Q950, a central hub for fitness and mindfulness within the home.
Consumers will have access to free and exclusive content from leading partners, including Calm, FitPlan, Jillian Michaels, Echelon, Obe Fitness, and Barre 3 and more.
Each of the new QLED TVs will also feature ATSC 3.0 tuners for next-generation broadcast support for 4K playback.
