Telco service provider TravelSIM has announced that it has signed a deal for a special school holiday promotion with the Teachers’ Credit Union to offer the organisation’s 157,000 members a discounted TravelSIM when they buy travel products from the credit union up to the end of January 2009.TravelSIM says it provides a low cost alternative to the international roaming service provided by the major telecommunications companies, enabling members and others to save money on making and receiving mobile phone calls when overseas in 153 countries this summer.
During December 2008 and January 2009, Teachers’ Credit Union members and travelling companions will be able to buy a TravelSIM for $40 with free shipping, when they buy travel products such as foreign currency or a cash passport card, giving them a $20 discount on the normal shipped product price, as well as savings on calls overseas.
“Teachers Credit Union’s philosophy is to deliver strong value to its members, many of whom travel overseas during the summer holidays. The TravelSIM card gives the option of cheaper calls when travelling abroad, and we are delighted to offer our members access to this product,” said Steve James, Chief Executive of Teachers Credit Union.
By replacing the normal SIM card with the TravelSIM card when travelling, calls can be received for free in over 60 countries. Calls can also be made for as little as $0.66 per minute.
