A new digital to analogue converter from Cambridge Audio claims its high-performance and cost make it one of the best on the market today.

The new DacMagic takes a digital signal from a network music device, games console, DVD/CD player or computer via USB, coaxial or optical inputs, up-samples to 24 bit 192 kHz then outputs in pure analogue through normal single-ended RCAs or fully balanced XLR sockets. It also incorporates filters, which are useful for tailoring the sound to your system.

The result is the best sounding audio you’ve heard this side of Cambridge Audio’s upmarket $2,500 840C CD player.

So, no matter what you use to play your digital music, be it iTunes, Sonos, PC or Mac, by adding a DacMagic, you can enjoy sound quality previously reserved for expensive high-end stereo systems, claims the manufacturer.
