Clarion will be launching its new in-dash navigation system that comes with Navteq’s mapping software.
The Clarion NX509A all-in-one AVN (audio visual navigation) unit and NP509A hide-away navigation system will come with pre-loaded maps as well as additional Navteq content such as 3D landmarks and junction view images, speed limit information, extended lane information, and Points of Interest (POI).
Clarion will also be offering Australian motorists the opportunity to add additional Navteq content to their device such as a 4WD and touring map and a lifestyle map.
Clarion Australia’s Managing Director, Toshiyuki Takayanagi said, “Consumers increasingly rely on and seek more information from their navigation systems. In developing these map products, we have considered the varying needs of Australian motorists – from off-road adventure seekers and travellers, to parents taking their kids to weekend sporting venues. We selected Navteq for its quality map data and robust offerings in rich map content that fulfil our requirements to meet the distinct needs of each customer group.”
Navteq’s Business Development Director, Kirk Mitchell said, “At Navteq, we continue to invest heavily to offer our customers the most compelling content from trusted brands such as Australian Good Food Guide, HEMA 4WD and off-road data. We are excited to be working with Clarion to bring our premium content, coupled with our leading features such as speed limits, extended lanes and 3D landmarks to Clarion customers.”
